Water service laterals will continue to be reconnected on the south side (even numbered) from Queen Street to Walnut Bottom Road. In order to reconnect the service laterals on this side of King Street, it is necessary to take traffic to single lane/alternating lanes. This may result in delays; please use alternate streets when possible. We appreciate your patience and cooperation. ****UPDATE**** January 16, 2020 Monday, January 20th, 2020. Up to this time, the contractor has been working on the north side (odd numbered) of King Street installing the main line and reconnecting service laterals. On Monday, they will start to reconnect the laterals on the south side (even numbered) of King Street beginning at 400 East King (corner of S.Queen/King) and proceed towards Walnut Bottom Road. In order to do this they will need to excavate on both sides of the street, while maneuvering equipment and personnel. This will take the street down to one lane/alternating traffic. Parking lanes on both sides of the street will be excavated and equipment is expected to be in the eastbound lane. Since this is the “long” side of lateral excavation I expect only 2 – 3 services a day (if all goes well), meaning this traffic pattern could be in place for the next 4 -5 weeks. The contractor works M-TH from 7am to 4 pm. The affected area will shift as progress is made. Moving forward throughout the winter months, WEATHER PERMITTED. ****Update 1/9/2020**** The contractor will continue with water service lateral reconnections along the north (odd side) side of King Street to Queen Street. We ask your cooperation and awareness of the No Parking signs; normal workdays are Monday through Thursday with Friday as a weather make up day. Thank you for your cooperation and patience. **** Update**** “The next phase of the new water main project is about to begin.
