Dear residents and Business’s owners:
The Shippensburg Borough Authority relies primary on groundwater sources for supply of its potable water system. Groundwater recharge is dependent upon many factors including infiltration of precipitation (rain water and melted snow), in to the local aquifers. Seasonal precipitation and recharge over the past 2 years has been well below normal conditions; we currently remain in a Drought Watch condition. We continue to are asking customers to voluntarily conserve 5% of your potable water usage. Here are some tips on how to do this:
